Papers are published in The EPJ Web of Conferences.
Conference papers are indexed in Thomson Reuters (ISI) Web of Knowledge and SCOPUS.

The conference will focus on obtaining an overview of projects under investigation, and experimental methods used in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Its aim is to organize a network of young research workers who are interested in experimental, and also theoretical, work in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. The conference should contribute to creating the closer contacts and sharing experience in application of various experimental methods, preparation and implementation of experiments, processing of results and numerical simulations of experiments.

Scientific and technical topics

The conference will focus on obtaining an overview of projects under investigation, and experimental methods used in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Its aim is to organize a network of young research workers who are interested in experimental, and also theoretical, work in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. The main topics of the conference are:

Acceptance and publishing of papers

Papers (in English) which have been accepted will be published in the proceedings and on CD ROM.

For the purpose of publishing a paper in the proceedings, it is necessary to upload it at efm.kez.tul.cz before 21st September 2014. The paper must be in the format corresponding to the sample published on the web pages of the conference (in *.pdf or *.doc format).

Your paper should not exceed the size of 20 MB. Early payment of the registration fee for authors of papers is before 14th September 2014. The registration fee may be paid also later after this date. If the registration fee is not paid, the paper will not be published. It is essential that receipt or confirmation of the bank transfer of registration fee to the conference bank account to be delivered to the organizers of the conference immediately after the transaction (please, send a letter, fax, email).

Non publishing participants may pay the registration fee at beginning of the conference.

The official language of the conference is English.

Keynote lectures

19.11.2014 - Dr. Victoria TIMCHENKO, University of New South Wales, Australia

Dr. Victoria TIMCHENKODr. TIMCHENKO is a senior lecturer in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at The University of New South Wales. She completed her Honours Degree in Physics at Kharkov State University, Ukraine, and her PhD in Engineering (1993) at the Institute for Problems in Machinery, The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Her areas of expertise are computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Research interests include natural convection and phase change problems; cooling of building integrated photovoltaic systems and microelectronic devices; synthetic jets; modeling of nano-particles in human arteries and laser hyperthermia for biomedical applications.

20.11.2014 - Dr. Vít LÉDL, Center TOPTEC, Czech Republic

Dr. Vít LÉDLDr. Vít LÉDL received his MSC from Technical University of Liberec and Ph.D. in natural science engineering from Technical university of Liberec (recording materials for holographic interferometry) in 2008. He has been working in Technical university of Liberec since 2005 and in Institute of Plasma physics Centre TOPTEC since 2006. He also spent one year at CERN working on ATLAS detector. He is currently the head of research Center TOPTEC (www.toptec.eu).
